Wise is the best choice for GBP to EUR for most amounts. Mid-market rate with a small fee typically 0.35–0.45%. Transfers arrive in 1–2 business days via SWIFT for GBP→EUR. Wise also holds EUR in your account — useful if you want to convert at a good rate and hold until needed.
OFX has no transfer fee and competitive margins on GBP→EUR, particularly for amounts above £5,000. Good for regular larger transfers — salary, pension, rent. 24/7 phone dealing useful for timing larger transfers.
Revolut is fee-free within plan limits on weekdays. Weekend markup applies. Useful for smaller transfers within plan limits but check the limit applies to your plan.
IBAN is mandatory for EU bank transfers. You will need the recipient's full IBAN. SEPA Credit Transfers (SCT) process same-day or next-day within the SEPA zone at no cost when transferring EUR between EU accounts. GBP transfers from the UK use SWIFT routing.
