The most common path for expats. Your employer in Hong Kong sponsors your visa application. Processing time approximately 4โ6 weeks. The visa is tied to your specific employer โ if you change jobs, you must apply for a new visa through the new employer. Generally easier to obtain than most countries given Hong Kong's active recruitment of overseas talent.
Introduced in late 2022 to attract global talent. Category A: annual income of HKD 2,500,000+ in the 12 months before application. Category B: graduates of top 100 universities globally (QS or equivalent) in the past 5 years with 3+ years' work experience. Category C: graduates of top 100 universities in the past 5 years without work experience requirement (quota applies). TTPS provides a 2-year stay without needing a job offer.
Points-based admission scheme for skilled professionals. No job offer required. Points awarded for age, academic qualifications, work experience, language ability and family background. Annual quota โ acceptance is not guaranteed. Processing time is longer than other routes. Check the HKSAR Immigration website for current quota status.
Available to current EP holders earning HKD 22,500+/month or overseas professionals earning HKD 270,000+/year. Valid 3 years, not renewable. Not tied to a specific employer โ allows up to 6 months between jobs. Useful for senior professionals who want flexibility. Once the 3-year period ends, you must obtain an Employment Visa through a new employer.
