The four categories

๐Ÿฅ‡ Wealthy Global Citizen

Liquid assets of USD 1,000,000+ AND annual income of USD 80,000+ (past 2 years) OR USD 500,000+ invested in Thai government bonds, Thai real estate, or a BOI-promoted company. For high-net-worth individuals.

๐Ÿ–๏ธ Wealthy Pensioner

Annual passive income of USD 80,000+ from abroad (pension, dividends, rental income). OR USD 40,000+ annually combined with a USD 250,000 investment in Thailand. Must be aged 50 or over.

๐Ÿ’ป Remote Worker (Work-From-Thailand Professional)

Employed by an overseas company with annual income of USD 80,000+ for the past 2 years. OR USD 40,000+ with 5 years' work experience plus a Master's degree or IP ownership. Employing company must have been operating for 3+ years.

๐Ÿ”ฌ Highly Skilled Professional

Specialist qualifications in BOI-targeted industries: science, technology, automotive, defence, digital, aerospace, medical devices, agritech, biofuel. Specific income and qualification requirements per sector โ€” check ltr.boi.go.th for the current approved list.

Health insurance โ€” the USD 50,000 requirement

All LTR Visa categories require health insurance with a minimum coverage of USD 50,000 per policy period. Pacific Cross, Cigna Global and AXA International all meet this requirement. Proof of valid coverage must be submitted with the application and maintained throughout the visa period. Source: ltr.boi.go.th

Thai tax for LTR holders
